The Bastille Art Prize aims to reveal and promote talented and still little-known artists on the international contemporary scene.

It provides a discovery function and is aimed at any amateur or professional artist, regardless of age, nationality or place of residence.

It is sponsored by the Galerie Bessaud, located in Paris, Bastille, representing internationally renowned artists, and which wishes through this call for applications to identify the talents of tomorrow.

The Prize is aimed at artists working in one or more of the following practices: drawing, engraving, installation, painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, decorative arts (textiles and materials, glass, wood, metal, ceramics, mosaic, paper or other techniques).

Conditions

No age limit to apply

Open to amateur artists and professionals

All nationalities accepted

Open to artists from all countries around the world

The application file must be submitted before midnight on October 15

How to apply?

Artists must open a Candidate Space on the Bastille Art Prize website, upload their application file online and pay the registration fees .

The candidate may update and complete their application online as much as they wish until the application deadline of October 15, 2025 at midnight.

The application file consists of a pdf portfolio containing the following information:

  • Your "artistic profile" which presents your general artistic approach, some biographical elements, and any element likely to enlighten the jury on your career

  • The presentation of one or more works that best embody your work and include their description as well as their technical details (title, medium, size, year of production, etc.)

What do the winners win?

The 5 winners selected by the Jury after reviewing the applications will be represented by the Galerie Bessaud during a dedicated group show in January 2026.

Each winner will then be invited to present several works, which will be exhibited and sold during the month-long exhibition, with the revenue being shared between Galerie Bessaud and the artist.

All costs of preparing the exhibition, opening, communication and creation of mediation materials will be covered by the Galerie Bessaud, thanks to the shared registration fees (see below).

Galerie Bessaud is committed to mobilizing its entire collectors' list during the opening, in order to present the work of the winners, as well as to activating its various communication levers for this purpose.


Registration fee

Participation in the Bastille Art Prize is subject to a registration fee of €29, payable online.

The registration fee is used entirely to cover the costs related to the organization of the prize and the realization of the group show (maintenance of the website, management of applications, service providers for the installation, caterer and photographer for the opening, design and production of communication and paper/digital mediation elements, etc.).
